The Easter Pagent

The Easter Pageant was once again amazing! It is always a great privilege and opportunity to prepare for the Easter season by focusing on the love and sacrifice of our Saviour, by attending the Easter Pageant at the Temple grounds. Steve and I went this year along with Carli, Josh, (her fiance') Haley, Alli, and one of our dear friends Connie Lounsberry. Connie got there early and was able to save us some pretty good seats, next to the sound equipment. This was the first time Josh and the girls had attended. Josh really seemed to enjoy the experience and thought it was "very moving". Haley was totally mesmerized, and Alli, well let's just say Alli loved the reflection pool and all the flowers surrounding the temple with Grammi.

Although Connie is not a member of the Church, she should be, I have always told her that she is a "dry member". Connie has attended the Easter Pageant many times in the past and looks forward to it each year. After the pageant we went into the visitors center and watched the presentation of the Christis. Haley couldn't take her eyes off the Christis and every now and then would look at Steve and I with a grin on her face that went from ear to ear. It is no wonder that the Savior has such love and admiration for these "little ones", with all their sweet innocence, wonder and faith.

Happy Birthday Charlie Elle

Happy Birthday Chachi, today you are five years old and as cute as ever. You are always so happy and make everyone around you smile. I love coming into the house each morning and hearing you (in the bathroom) singing primary songs at the top of your lungs. You have a beautiful voice. Charlie is Micah and Whitney's second child and only daughter. With three brothers she has learned to hold her own especially with Rhett and Kael, and yet stay sweet and girly at the same time. Charlie spent the morning of her birthday going to preschool and then in the afternoon her mom and dad surprised her and her friends with a "Strawberry Shortcake" jump house. All the kids jumped and jumped and jumped some more. If I could have bottled up all the energy those kids were using in that jump house I could have sold it to SRP and made a million dollars in the six hours those kids were jumping. Charlie had several of her friends over and all of her cousins were at her party. Her mom make cute and yummy cupcakes with strawberries on top. We all filled up on pizza and watched as Charlie opened her gifts. Grandma and Grandpa Hatch, along with Charlie's aunt Hilary, uncle Preston Stapley and cousins Kia, and Baden joined all of our gang to celebrate this festive occasion with Charlie. Charlie loves, her daddy and loves to follow him around and go with him in the car. Charlie is a great big sister and helps her mother with her baby brother Taj. Charlie will be starting kindergarten in the fall, and loves primary. Charlie is a wonderful cousin and is great at entertaining Haley. Haley loves you so much Charlie as do Tata and I. Hope you enjoyed your very special day, Chachi.

Cami and Devin, March 25, 1994

Congratulations Cami and Devin on your fifteenth year of marriage. Steve and I are so very proud of Cami and Devin and the beautiful family they are raising. It has not always been an easy road for them and their family but I know that they like the rest of us are learning some very valuable lessons. Our Heavenly Father has truly blessed our family in many ways. It just doesn't seem like it has been fifteen years ago since our darling daughter married her high school sweet heart, they both seemed so young. I still remember the rain storm that we had that day, making it necessary to change our plans from an outdoor reception to an indoor reception at the Stake Center, and not the one we had listed on the invitation either. We were so worried that no one would show up due to the rain and then the change of venues from one Stake building to another pne down the street. I was very pleasantly surprised that we had so many good friends and family "weather the storm" and come out to share in the celebration of Cami and Devin's wedding day. I was so greatful to Gayle Hammonds for her talents and turning the normally boring cultural hall into a beautiful our door setting which included bridges, waterfalls and gazebos, it was a dream come true for Cami and Devin and a huge load off my shoulders. Even the rain could not dampen our spirits on that day.

We love you Cami and Devin and wish you many, many, many more wonderful years of marriage. I hope the next fifteen plus years will hold many more blessings and fewer trials for you and your family. We love you both, forever and always.
